Dice the onion, mince the garlic. Cook the beef, onion, and garlic
all together until the beef is browned, 5-8 minutes. Drain fat.
Add all remaining ingredients except white rice (if you're using
brown, add that too as it cooks slower.) Simmer 15 minutes. If using
white rice, add it. Simmer for an additional 30 minutes. Taste and
adjust seasoning.
Notes:
If you don't have dry mustard powder, use 1 tablespoon prepared mustard.
